The Handle It SH-FA-5000 is an entry-level stretch hooder that delivers high-quality pallet protection across a range of load sizes without the complexity or footprint of high-volume systems. It applies a tubular stretch film that conforms precisely to load contours — securing the pallet on 5 to 6 sides with vertical and horizontal clamping force, no heat required.
Compared to traditional stretch wrap, the SH-5000 reduces packaging costs by up to 30%, lowers energy consumption by 50% (no heat source, no gas emissions), and cuts transit damage by up to 20%. The film is 100% recyclable and can be produced with recycled polymers, making it the most sustainable pallet protection option in the Handle It lineup.
How Stretch Hooding Works
Stretch hood film is supplied in reels. The machine automatically unrolls, cuts, seals, and positions a tailor-cut hood over each load. Because the film's circumference is smaller than the load perimeter, it stretches over the load and then releases — the elastic recovery applies a consistent clamping force to all sides simultaneously.
Every hood is tailored to the specific load height — no wasted film, predictable material cost per pallet.
